Memorial Day Weekend

This weekend we headed back to New Jersey for family and friends. Pre holiday traffic was not too bad, but everyone getting out at 3 pm helped that issue. That night over sushi, we were able to catch up with Gram. She is still a little shaken up about her accident, but she is still driving during daylight hours and seems competent behind the wheel.

Saturday we got to sleep in a little bit, but then it was off to the Jersey shore of LBI. Greg made a stop for Dutch pretzels in the hopes I would refrain from asking about them. They are just so tasty - light on the salt, heavy on the butter and still crispy.

Greg, Ken and Ed went for a bay trip in the boat as the girls gave gifts and advice to Nicole. Her wedding is coming up fast the end of June, but after this party her kitchen is pretty well stocked.

Sunday Greg was able to head out with his dad shooting, and I got to help Ann in the yard. I have to admit we enjoy seeing family and getting to work their yards. Ours takes about one weekend and a little watering through the year.

The rest of Sunday and Monday were quiet hours enjoying the holiday and thinking about what it really means and represents. This was the first time in awhile we were not actually with a vet over this holiday nor at a parade. Next year where ever we are we will have to find one.
