The departing sun shone down on the little brick terrace. Vines swept along the roofs and outlined the band's set up. We walked in to say hi to our group and get out wine tasting tickets and wine glasses.
The woman who helped us with the tastings had been on her feet behind the same bar set up for 7 hours. She relayed different dishes that would compliment each taste we took. Our favorite is still the Blue Crab series. The ending was a list of warnings about sweet wines.
As the last sips of the late harvest tickled our taste buds, the crack of thunder told us a little shopping was in order. We purchased some bottles to last till next year's adventure to Ingleside, and Greg ran those out to the car. His shirt turned a little see through as the rain poured from the sky. Some people did flee to their cars to head home, but most of the crowd seemed think of the rain a memory to make this year's trip different.
Soon the rain stopped and the band started to play again.
After a few hours of muddy feet, dancing, and sips of wine, it was time to head home.
Thank you Ingleside till next year.
