Drinking with Pirates

Argh me mates. It was to the Piratz Tavern in Silver Spring, MD for some grog and song. There was also some sangria and surprisingly decent food.

It is a cute little restaurant we got to know as a friend worked there. The Puri-Puri chicken is a great appetizer, and the grog is a great drink to wash it down. Granted the Puri-Puri is an addictive spicy chicken dish and the grog is a chemists dream of alcohols.

The decor is in keeping with the pirate theme from waitress dressed in wench outfits to old naval maps on the bathroom walls. There are also an assortment of random pirate flags and the menu is full of catchy seafarer terms.

The music is provided on Friday's and every other Saturday by a group called the Drunken Ferrets. They are actually charter privateers by the state of Maryland. Do not ask me how or why, but they are.
