WoF - Sushi

There are some foods that we eat as a common delicacy in the US. We were able to find a Japanese Hibachi restaurant for World of Food Japan take 1. But we quickly realized we were not seeing the full spectrum of Japanese cuisine. Since Japanese food is more abundant here in the states then many other types of food, we decided to have a World of Food - Japan 2. This time we were headed out for Sushi, but not just any sushi place would do for us.

We found a conveyor belt sushi joint right in downtown DC. It has a stylish interior and convenient tables to both the belt and friendly chatter. There are options that can be ordered from the menu, but everything comes on a color plate that tells you how much it costs. And yes, I did say conveyor belt sushi. This means the little plates are created in the kitchen which you can see into at the beginning of the belt, but you see row after row of delicious items. This way a patron can pursue the options and eat at their own pace. If you see a roll when you walk in that seems to disappear for awhile just ask the waitress and she will make a special plate for you of your request.

The name of the place was Wasabi Sushi, and it was fantastic. They had pretty bland run of the mill sushi, but it was good tasting and the price was right. They also extended the good happy hour deals they offered for our group, and gave us a warning when they closed the happy hour deals. This seems like easy basic restaurant behaviour, but normally I find out when I order that second drink just seconds too late.
